My name is Joan and I have been sewing my own wardrobe since I was a young girl. You'll be wearing a one-off!

Although I took sewing classes in home-ec at school I always felt I learned more from what my mother taught me because of her years of experience. Over the years I have sewn for myself and my family and I have been able to make items to sell and earn some money. I love being creative and have had the opportunity in the past teach others different crafts. Because I've always sewn my own clothes, I

have had lots of compliments and many have asked if I would do sewing lessons but I've never pursued it. Now, finally I've decided to hold those 'sewing lessons'. Having the ability to sew means that I can now pass on my years of experience as a dressmaker and an instructor so you can learn to make outfits that are unique to you. It's not easy these days to find clothes in the stores that suit or fit our figure. Having the ability to sew for yourself allows you to custom make clothes to fit correctly and you won't see yourself coming down the street!

There is so much variety in fabrics for soft furnishings today which means you can make your own. I made these cushions with textured fabric that perfectly tied in with my bedding. Beautiful furry denim and soft pink velour. Cushions made with textured fabric cost heaps. I priced similar cushions at around $80 each. I made all 4 for about $40!
When you can make your own for not much money then it’s less painful when you want to change up your bedroom decor.
