I've been delving back into the world of my favourite little Tassie freshwater fish recently, the cryptic and imperilled Eastern Dwarf galaxias. This species is the smallest of our native galaxias, only a few cm long, and found only in the far northeast and northwest of lutruwita. At risk from land clearing, water scarcity and habitat degradation, its a species sitting on the brink of extinction in this state.
I am SO excited to be collecting my new dwarf galaxias coffee mug this week from ridiculously talented ceramicist, ecologist and legend of a lass Alexia Landry. Look at the beaut little orange stripes of the bloke fish! I do love me a biologically correct artwork.
