ps. this was our TK Maxx Australia finds this week ๐ŸŒฑ

on a side note!!!
iโ€™ve been quietly looking for a shop for ages now. I think itโ€™s almost hit two years ??

everything lately either feels the same, not what we are looking for like horrible parking, narrow etc or its so expensive for what it is ๐Ÿ˜…

itโ€™s like a massive kick in the guts every time I check the website but oh well. it is what it is.

here is 5 small things I did to help ease cost of living for my family ๐Ÿฆ‹โœจ

mainly for Brisbane/Meanjin ๐ŸŒพ

1) i started walking everywhere. i actually hated the idea of walking but now i actually donโ€™t mind it, plus itโ€™s good for your health. plus the 50c bus is so good i donโ€™t mind walking to it ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ‹
thanks to for introducing of 50c public transport!

2. i started a garden ๐Ÿงšโœจ๐ŸŒป
use Facebook marketplace for garden beds & seeds from veggies you already have!

3. i started utilising my local community supports & food banks when we are struggling to get by ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’๐ŸŠ
some food assistance org.au

& so many more!

homeware & similar

childrenโ€™s clothing:swap kids.clothing aus

& more!

4. i started shopping around + negotiating my bills ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“ฑโœจ
i find better deals from other providers and then go back to my current one like โ€œcan you match this?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜ญ
and most of the time they can!

phone, internet, electricity
everything is negotiable more than you think

5. i cancelled subscriptions i didnโ€™t actually need ๐Ÿ’ธโœจ
i went through my bank statements those $10 a month REALLY add up.

just sharing whatโ€™s been helping us lately in case it helps someone else too
plz let me know your tips ๐ŸŒฑ

i found the sweetest little community food bank in yamanto ๐Ÿค

itโ€™s just opened and itโ€™s a small, volunteer run space with such a lovely community vibe.
everyone was so kind, and the fresh fruit & veg was fresh!

this video shows what a $20 shop looked like on the day.
they aim to keep prices around 30โ€“50% cheaper than supermarkets, depending on what stock they receive

you donโ€™t need a concession card to shop there.
soon theyโ€™ll also be offering $50 food hampers with pantry staples and, when available, fresh fruit, veg, bread and milk.

๐Ÿ“ The Acorn Pantry Inc Yamanto Ipswich
*ps the $1 was the strawberries

not sponsored,
just sharing something helpful for locals ๐Ÿค

I will be taking a long break.
over the weekend, my mum passed away.
a lot of you have met her as she always helped me out with tiny footprints and always kept me grounded and now I don't have that. nor do I have the energy in me.
it also hurts knowing one of the last tabs open on her phone was one of the stories I posted on here too and she would always comment/react to posts..
as well as get mad at me for not ironing the clothes.
will forever love her.

sorry if it doesn't really make sense as my brain is a little scrambled but
thank you for your support & bye for now.

our little budget friendly bookshelf ๐Ÿฅน

we found a $5 op shop dollhouse and turned it into a mini bookshelf for my girl, and i had to share because it turned out so cute.

also most of our books are thrifted too
theyโ€™re usually 50cโ€“$1.

such an easy way to build up a little collection without breaking the bank ๐Ÿค
