Update on what’s been happening in my world.

I have finished painting my latest doll but unfortunately she is going to have to wait for her hair as I have experienced a painful tear in my shoulder, which is going to take a long time to heal.

I will be starting my next doll though and she will be a baldy. I am hoping to be able to showcase her within the next month, depending on my health as I also suffer from major depression (if you aren’t sure what the “major’ component of that means, please google it) it’s no fun and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I do enjoy painting when my health permits it, it’s a kind of therapy for me and I especially love the end result once I have finished and my dolls are ‘born’ so to speak. It allows me a sense of achievement and purpose so for those reasons alone I won’t be retiring from it yet.

Here he is. 😀 Meet Lou sculpted by Severine Perit. Lou will be available for purchase at The Art Dolls of Australia convention in December.

Lou is a small 15” preemie, he wears tiny preemie size and weighs 2.42lbs.

Lou has been painted using heat set paints and I have included veining, capillaries, shading and many texture and depth layers. I have included little half moons on his nails and have painted his nail tips softly. He has barely there eyebrows as is often the case with real ones this young.

Lou has full limbs, a soft cloth body that has been filled with quality glass beads and stuffing to make him feel like you are holding a real baby.
He has been fitted with a magnet so he can take a dummy.
I directionally mono rooted (one hair at a time) Lou’s hair using premium quality Ju&Na mohair.

Lou comes with two onesies as seen in the pictures, two Honeybug dummies, the short sleeved outfit made by the incredibly talented Carolyn from Precious Little Handmades, the little blue teddy, two nappies, his COA, care instructions, birth certificate, mohair spray and toothbrush for brushing his hair. All of this is valued at over $100.00.

Gracie Mae will be available for purchase at The Art Dolls of Australia convention in December.

My version of Gracie Mae first sight by Laura Lee Eagles has arrived in my nursery.
Gracie Mae is a limited edition sculpt being number 1023 out of 3000 sold worldwide.
She is 19” and wears newborn size 0000 and weighs 4.55lb.
I spent many, many hours painting her using heat set paints and have included veining, capillaries to her face, eyes and ears, shading, pore texture as well as many texture and depth layers. I have included little half moons on her nails and have painted her nail tips softly like you would expect to see on a newborn.
She has full limbs, a soft cloth body that has been filled with quality glass beads and stuffing to make her feel like you are holding a real newborn.
She has been fitted with a magnet so she can take a dummy.
Gracie Mae’s hair has been directionally mono rooted (one hair at a time) using premium quality HP Babylocks mohair.
Gracie Mae comes with an outfit of my choice, a COA, care instructions, birth certificate, a bottle with no hole teat, mohair spray and additional extras.
