With another river season all but done we would like to thank our valued customers for your on going support and love of our shop and congratulate you on so many amazing captures.
Now that the rivers are closed its far from pack the rod and vest away, the seasonal highlight of polaroiding and prospecting the snowy lakes margins for big hungry brown trout that are looking to put condition on to sustain themselves for their journey up the rivers or looking to replace lost weight as they return are on offer to the bank angler.Teamed up with a good set of polaroid sunglasses and a handfull of the old favourite woolly bu**er with U.V hot heads puts you in the game, a good tactic is to look ahead of you on the bank rather than 90 degrees into the water so u detect them before they see you, once a trout is located try to resist the urge to cast to him which risks spooking and just place the fly the same distance he is out straight in front of you and trust that he will continue along his path and his excellent hunting skills will do the rest.
The U.V bead glows on low light days which stands out like a beacon to the browns and should be rested on the bottom while waiting for the fish to get close enough to notice, if the fish changes body language and is heading to your fly then that flys job is done and he will agressively take it off the bottom mistaking it as a yabby,if the fish hasnt noticed the fly a medium slow arms length draw to make a puff of silt raise behind the fly as it scratches the bottom almost always gets a response
We have lots of different sizes with various weighted U.V beads, either come in to the shop to have a look and talk tactics , shop on our on line store or place an order over the phone,we also have a great range of polaroid sunnies at great prices Spotters,Smith,Tonic and Carve,we also have great deals on top end fly rods and combos Sage,Scott,Primal,Reddington and Vision
thank you
