A little thought on Monday about Sunday.

On Sunday I opened my little shop with 50% off all winter clothing - a huge discount for a small, independent business - and didn’t make one sale.

This isn’t a sympathy post! It’s an honest reminder about what supporting LOCAL really means.

I understand that Sundays don’t suit everyone, with sport and family commitments, but this isn’t just about one Sunday sale. It’s about all the other days too.

Not only my business, but all small local businesses are the ones supporting our town - donating to raffles, providing prizes, supporting local clubs, and supporting events and community groups throughout the year.

I am sure the big online shops aren’t going to support the community we live in with the donations and sponsorships that so many local groups rely on!

So sometimes you can’t help but wonder what more can a small business do to earn your support?

Surely 50% off is a pretty good incentive to come in and have a look before sending your money out of our small town.

Because one day, if the little shops are gone, we can’t simply order them back online!
