This breathtaking freestanding Danish floating modular shelving unit is a rare thing indeed...

Poul Cadovius was a true pioneer of Danish Modern design penning his ‘Royal System’ shelving units as early as 1948 (quite a way ahead of when most think of Mid Century Modern design emerging). He revolutionised shelving with space saving minimalism and modular functionality giving the design and its function fluidity of form based on the user’s preferred layout.

This unit is 4 bay’s wide, standing on 5 freestanding uprights with ant legs, requiring no wall mounting or anchoring. A rarer unit in the Royal System range. It can therefore be used against a wall, or as a room divider, with adjustments made to front legs to balance the piece. Frame is powder coated steel, and shelves are teak veneer, with all shelves having the Cadovius and Royal System makers stickers on the back of them.

Overall width is 3250mm, height is 2000mm and max depth 400mm.

The unit consists of x 5 vertical upright supports in black, x 17 shelves of various depths, x 1 fold down bar unit, x 1 2-drawer unit, and x 1 double sliding cupboard unit. Further specific dimensions available on request.

Condition is very good indeed.
