Marilynne Joy Bateman-Lalor
03.03.1954 - 15.05.2022

Our beautiful wife, mother, mother-in-law and Nanna fought hard and with all the dignity, grace, sarcasm, wit, humour, pragmatism, strength and determination she put into everything.
Ok - maybe not cooking... but everything else.

Her celebration of life will take place ​on Tuesday 24th May 2022 at 1.45pm in the Cordell Chapel, Fawkner Memorial Park, Hadfield, Victoria.

To honour her legacy, Marilynne ‘insisted’ that hats or head pieces should be worn.

In lieu of flowers, you are invited to make a donation to Guide Dogs Victoria in Marilynne's name:

It is with great sadness that I have to advise the passing of Marilynne Bateman-Lalor at 1730 on 15th May 2022.
Marilynne gave a valiant and enthusiastic battle against her cancer.
Unfortunately she was unsuccessful in her battle.
I will advise when the funeral details are finalised.

It is with a great deal of sadness that I will be closing the shop ‘Hat’itude on piper’on Saturday 26th March. It has been a dream for the last 3 years but unfortunately Covid and an unforeseen personal health issue have made this decision necessary- and it has been a very hard decision to make. I have been very lucky to have a wonderful group of Milliners and artisans who have supplied me with the most beautiful products to sell on consignment and was also able to source 4 wonderful international products to round out the stock. Thank you everyone! I have begun the process of returning the consignment products to their owners and will then sell the remaining shop stock and fittings during March. The shop will continue to operate on Fridays and Saturdays until the 26th, so now is the time to purchase that hat you have lusted after in the window! Obviously we will not be making any new hats but I can put you in touch with a number of exceptional Milliners who can help you

To start 2022 in a positive and uplifting way we will be having our first sale at Hat’itude on Piper , continuing for the whole month of January. Consignment pieces will be reduced by 20% and shop stock by at least 20% - prices will be clearly marked. We look forward to helping you build/ expand your hat wardrobe

Christmas 2021 is fast approaching . After a very interesting and different year I wish everyone a Merry Christmas with their loved ones.
In keeping with this spirit , the shop will be closing for Christmas from Sunday 19/12/21 and reopening on Friday 7/1/22. This means I will be able to go to Sydney for Christmas and spend time with my family , particularly my 92 year old father, who I haven’t seen for 2 years.
May the spirit of Christmas shower you all with love and happiness and may 2022 be better.

Sorry everyone but due to events beyond my control, the shop is unable to be opened today and tomorrow. Hopefully we will be back on track next Friday and Saturday.

Yes we make and sell all sorts of hats for all sorts of people!
So stay warm! Wear a hat! Gloves! A scarf!
We have them all!
Open Friday and Saturday 10-2pm
( and this week , Sunday 10-11 too!)

My apologies but this week the shop will only be open on Saturday 12th June from 10-2 pm and by appointment only on Sunday.
( please remember that according to Government guidelines only Regional Victorians can be in Regional Victoria this long weekend!)
