We do quite a lot of weddings here at Neil Pitt's and it's always wonderful when the groups we have helped get in touch afterwards with photos and thanks. This heartfelt one came through the other day from Brad and Jas Spencer. Jas said:

"Brad and I just want to express our gratitude and appreciation for the team at Neil Pitts with majority of the appreciation going towards Andrew (Vozar). His professional approach while being kind and genuine instantly gave us peace of mind when suit shopping. Some things didn't go to plan with last minute size changes but Andrew was on the ball with providing solutions seamlessly.

We don't just feel like we purchased the suits and walked away.. we feel as if we have made a connection that we will forever appreciate.

The boys scrubbed up beautifully and the suits lasted all night! They handled dancing really well and all the boys felt comfortable all night long.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for absolutely everything. It was a fun journey we will always cherish!"

Rest in peace Peter Magnotta

It is with great sadness that we post this tribute to Pete. He passed away over the weekend, peacefully and surrounded by family.

After arriving from Italy in 1960, Peter and Connie settled in Launceston and Pete had a barbershop which was part of the Majestic Theatre. When the Pitt brothers bought the Majestic in 1969 with plans to convert it to a menswear store, they invited Pete to join the staff.

Pete was here with us at Neil Pitt's for 50 years - from when we opened in the Majestic in 1970 through to his retirement in about 2020. He was an exceptionally skilled tailor and led the tailoring and alterations team for most of that time.

His role included informal barber to the Pitt family and as kids we all had our hair cut by Pete up in the tailors room. In fact in their mutual retirements, until very recently, Pete would still visit Don and cut his hair as they caught up over a cuppa.

The fourth photo was taken in April this year - Pete and Connie, Gino, Vic and Karen came in for a family meal during the last few weeks of the Neil Pitt's Coffee Shop.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Magnotta family and we remember Pete and the times we shared over very many years.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Ted Hicks. He worked with us from the early 90s through until his retirement in July 2011. He was kind, patient, knowledgeable, professional and a true gentleman. We are thinking of his family at this time and send them our condolences.
