Earlier this year I was wondering whether Milano Ponte Double Knit Jersey should continue to grow at Wicked Fabrics.

There are already so many colours across the collection and I keep finding more fabrics and more colours I want to add.

But over the last few months I've noticed quite a few of you adding Milano to your capsule wardrobes, sewing one piece and then coming back for another.

So I'm running with it as a sign.

Three new colours are joining the collection! πŸŽ‰

Dusty Rose Pink
Petrol Blue
Pewter Grey

Pewter Grey is replacing Dark Grey. It's still a lovely grey, just a little lighter.

I love seeing you build handmade wardrobes with fabrics you know you'll wear, and it seems Milano is earning its place in quite a few of them.

So yes...

Milano is staying for now❀️

Just a little heads up from me because I'm running low on some of the solid cotton elastane jerseys πŸ₯²

Part of a shipment has gone missing in transit. It's not exactly small so I'm not quite sure how it's managed to disappear but unfortunately, it hasn't been located yet. That means I'm behind on my solid jersey restocks and it's going to take a few weeks before I can start rebuilding the colours that have been depleted.

If you've been eyeing off a particular colour and it's currently in stock, now is a good time to grab what you need or finalise that cart. Once a colour sells out, there may be a bit of a wait before I can get it back on the shelf.

On the bright side, if you're looking to add a little more linen to your wardrobe, I've just added some new colours to the Linen Blend collection. I shared all the details in today's newsletter, so there's something new to have a look at while we're waiting for my missing shipment to find its way home 😬

Thank you as always for your patience while I work through the restocks. It really does help when you shop what's available and give these fabrics a new sewing life. ❀️

Ohhhh, Sydney. Are we calling this Spring weather yet? πŸ˜‚β˜€οΈ

I had the loveliest Sunday at a housewarming and birthday celebration with the girls. Pot luck food, drinks and plenty of laughs. Pretty much the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday!

Of course, I made sure the Wicked shelves were topped up before I headed off.

Freshly added:

🌱 Spearmint Cotton Elastane Jersey

And the Viscose Linen collection has had a little refresh:

πŸ’™ Petrol Blue
🌲 Pine Green NEW
🀍 Oatmeal NEW
🧑 Terracotta NEW

Petrol Blue seems to have been a hit, so I'm glad to see it back.

Pine Green is replacing Sage Green and I have a feeling Oatmeal is going to be a favourite. It's one of those colours that works with just about everything.

I'm getting these restocks in early because I know that as the weather warms up, Viscose Linen is going to start making its way onto your cutting tables.

You can tell we're in the middle of transitioning seasons by the colours making their way into my customers' shopping carts.

I processed this bundle of Cotton Elastane Ribbing for a customer today and the mix caught my attention because a few bright colours sitting alongside some soft pastels, which feels very fitting for this time of year.

It's also a good representation of the colour range I've built up over time. There are plenty of practical neutrals, soft shades and brighter colours depending on what you're sewing and who you're sewing for.

There's a colour on my shelf for everyone around here haha πŸ˜‚

A little sunshine, a special family milestone and a few fabric restocks to start the week β˜€οΈ

We had beautiful weather in Sydney on Sunday and spent the day watching Miss A play in the last game of her football season.

After two ACL tears, seeing her back on the field and playing at the level she loves was a big moment for us. Lots of hard work went into getting her there and we were feeling very proud and very grateful.

It also has me looking forward to Spring and Summer. I'm ready for warmer days and a little more sunshine!

Now onto the fabric because that's probably why you're here πŸ˜„

I have another shipment currently taking the scenic route, so there will be more goodies arriving soon.

And if you're sewing with Wicked Fabrics, don't forget to tag so I can see what you're making. I genuinely love seeing where the fabrics end up!

OoOo, yarn dyed stripes and bamboo elastane jersey! πŸ’•πŸŒΈ

I'm pretty sure these two aren't heading into the same garment, but I had to put them together because the soft pink in the 3mm Blush/7mm White Yarn Dyed Stripe picks up the pale pink tones in Vintage Flowers #6 Bamboo Elastane Jersey so nicely.

It's a good example of how looking at fabrics side by side can give you ideas for colour combinations you might not have considered before even if the pinks aren't matchy matchy.

There are currently 6 options in the Vintage Flowers collection, all printed on bamboo elastane jersey. It's beautifully soft to wear, has plenty of stretch and is a great choice for everyday garments.

And don't let the cooler weather put you off. With the right layers, bamboo elastane jersey can work throughout the year. Add a cardigan, jacket or warmer layer and you can keep wearing those softer, lighter fabrics well beyond summer.

Bundles are the best. Here's another one, this time in 100% Cotton Double Gauze 🀍

Basics and everyday fabrics can easily fly under the radar, but when I look at my own wardrobe, it's mostly made up of those very fabrics with a few prints mixed in.

That's why I love a good colour combination. You can take a simple everyday fabric and make it feel completely different by adding another colour. Colour blocking is also a great way to use up larger offcuts instead of letting them sit in the stash, and you can end up with a garment that's completely your own.

I'm not sure what this particular bundle will become, but there are plenty of good colours here to work with. Whatever gets made, I can already see it becoming one of those everyday pieces that gets worn again and again.

And really, isn't that what we want from the fabrics we sew with?

Fabric might be the star of the show, but thread does a lot of the heavy lifting. 🧡

I've just restocked a selection of Rasant sewing threads, including:

Pewter Grey
Light Khaki Green
Sunflower Yellow
Light Grey
Ivory
Black
Purple
White

One thing I love about Rasant is the huge colour range available. Rather than stocking every colour under the sun, I've chosen a collection that coordinates with the fabrics already in the shop to make colour matching a little easier.

Suitable for sewing machines and overlockers.

What thread colour do you find yourself reaching for most often?

I mustn't forget all the ribbing bundles that get carefully cut and packed around here too!

I get plenty of ribbing orders, but most are a couple of colours at a time. Still pretty, but when a mega stash builder like this one comes through, of course I'm taking a happy snap before it gets packed up πŸ˜‚

The colour collection continues to grow at Wicked Fabrics. Some colours eventually disappear when they're discontinued, while new ones come in and take their place. It means there's always a bit of movement in the range.

Ribbing can easily fly under the radar when you're planning a sewing project, but once you've used a good quality ribbing, you'll understand why it's worth having in your stash.

Cuffs, neckbands, waistbands and all those little finishing details can make such a difference to a garment.

If you've been umming and ahhing about giving ribbing a go, maybe this is your sign to add a colour to your next project. You might find yourself coming back for more 😊

Posting a photo to brighten your feed, just in case you need it! 🌈

This gorgeous bundle of Cotton Elastane Fleecy was packed up last week, so I'm a little late getting around to sharing it, but I think you'll agree it's still worth sharing!

I love seeing colour combinations like this come through in orders. One of the things I enjoy about packing orders is that it's rare for any two to look exactly the same. Everyone has their own colour preferences and ideas for what they're making, so there is always something different landing on my cutting table.

This bundle is a particularly bright and fun one with plenty of colour to play with.

And as a bonus, tonight I actually have a rare night off from taking Miss A to training, which means I've had a chance to sit down and get a post up at this time of evening πŸ˜‚

Which colour would you be grabbing first?
