DEEP IDENTITY is about seeing the UNITY behind Diversity, focusing on the deeper ways we are all connected together.
There will be no peace in the world until a majority of the human family recognize every other person on the planet as a sister or brother, One Earth Community.
Albert Einstein understood this, as well as the Beatles, Buddha, Jesus, JFK, Jane Goodall, Malala Yousafzai, Thich Nhat Hanh, Bishop Tutu, Mahatma Gandhi, Joanna Macy, Martin Luther King Jr.-- basically most Nobel Peace Prize winners and many of our grandmothers.
Wars are rooted in identification with labels and differences of surface identity, where atrocities are then committed by anyone willing to mass murder large numbers of human beings.
Some say the wars happening now are the fault of Americans or Israelis, Muslims or Jews, the IDF or Hamas, Trump, Netanyahu or Putin, etc, etc.
But the real enemy here is "us vs them" thinking, the mental models (belief systems) we have that promote "othering" and the dark psychology of demonization, dehumanization, stereotyping.
This is the mindset of terrorism as well as all wars, what prompted Al Qaeda on 9/11, Japan to attack Pearl Harbor, Americans to bomb HIroshima, Chinese to take over Tibet, Russia to go into Ukraine, Hamas to attack on 10/7 and Israelis to lay siege to Gaza for two years.
No one leader, religion, culture or nation is to blame here. The problem is the dark patterns of human psychology. To bring an end to war, dehumanization, antisemitism, oppression and racism there needs to be a shift in consciousness and behavior by all of us.
This is the message of the classic book "The Little Prince," that what is most essential is invisible to the eyes and can only be seen with our hearts. Otherwise, we remain blind.
