After another wet weekend, Sunday arvo rolled around with the footy done and the dogs fed. Just as I was settling in, the phone rang - mob of pigs out feeding.

We raced over to the spot but they’d already pushed back into a thick block of cane. Turned the dogs loose and they got to work straight away. Didn’t take long before they had this big boar bailed up.

Dogs made short work of him - absolute tank of a pig, well over the tonne mark. Solid end to the weekend.

It’s been a wet start to the year, but we’re still down in the mud, battling the elements and getting onto some solid boars. No need to burn fuel driving around when we’ve got a finder in the sky doing the hard work.

The last big cane paddock left on a farm for the 2025 season, we were certain there had to be a pig in there. As soon as the wind was right, the dogs were off the ute and straight onto him, making short work of it. Nice, quick family run.

Boars are out in force at the moment. Went for a quick arvo and early-night run—didn’t see any mobs, but still managed 6 solid cane boars. Biggest went 129kg, then a 101kg, a 90kg, and the rest in the 70–80kg range. Dogs were on fire!

Last minute decision to hit the cane again paid off — dropped 6 more pigs, including this big girl! She was in awesome nick, weighing in at 112kg 💪 What a cracker of a night!
