Thanks Karen, yes I can remember doing that! Those were the days before compulsory seat belts and vehicle safety regulations. Looking back, it was a pretty dangerous thing to do but really we didn't think twice about it, always assuming that everything would be OK. This would now be considered extremely reckless, putting children’s lives at risk and a most serious offence. Things have certainly changed a lot in the past 50 years!
