Does anyone actually know what the algorithm wants? Please, tell me what it is! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

In an effort to grow my business online, I have decided I need to be more consistent with my social media. Everything says "consistency is key" so I've committed to post every week.

A few months in and here are the results so far:

• Followers are trickling in... And back out...

• Average post reach is down 30% compared to my previous sporadic posting schedule. I thought they said there'd be "growth" from consistent posting 🤔

• Trial reels apparently seem to only get shown to the US or India. I'm doing all the "location-tagging", the keywords, the specific posting times to optimise for local timezones - still barely an Australian gets shown 😐 Or worse, no one gets shown. Literally zero views. I've clearly broken some unknown rule for the algorithm to deem my trial a failure before it's actually trialled it 😂

• Good news is that website views are up! Unfortunately that hasn't actually made any difference to my sales (so far - I'm still hopeful! 🤞🏼).

So in review, I clearly still have no idea what I'm doing here 🙃😂

I started Dacy Laine because I'm passionate about beautiful clothing that women feel amazing in, not because I'm passionate about social media. I've worked in fashion retail for a long time, I can tell fibre from touch, I used to be able to guestimate a customers jean size with high accuracy, was trusted to realise that a bride had looked down whilst I was cutting her wedding dress BEFORE I cut it too short - I thought I knew what I was doing... But Meta has me stumped!

So please tell me, what am I doing wrong? Right? Missing altogether?

Nine days of neon nails... and he's still checking I'm wearing it!

Despite my best attempts to steer him toward a less blinding shade he went straight for the brightest fluoro yellow in the box.

Yep. It sure does 🙃😂

The "more is more" approach meant paint halfway up my fingers and layers so thick they took three days to fully set.

I wouldn't dare get the remover out, but I breathe a quiet sigh of relief every time a big chunk chips off on its own.

I’ll just be here repping the neon until the last of the "highlighter" fades. It's the price of being a canvas 🫣🤷🏼‍♀️

I definitely didn’t get a Mother’s Day sleep-in, but getting to take my family to work with me at the Marysville Market Inc was the next best thing.

What a beautiful day to wrap up the season! It was so wonderful to see the community out in force—and a huge shout-out to Narbeview Wildlife Shelter Incorporated for keeping us fed with the sausage sizzle.

While the Marysville Market is taking a break until Spring, Dacy Laine isn't going into hibernation! We’ll be popping up at other regional markets throughout winter (stay tuned for dates), and our online shop is always open.

For everyone who asked about the Sloane Cotton Knit I was wearing—it’s officially "mum-tested". Not only is it made from beautifully soft, breathable cotton, but the deep burgundy tone and texture did a stellar job of disguising the inevitable baby slobber throughout the day! 🤤
