Melbourne Fashion Hub Showcasing and supporting Australia's fantastic emerging fashion talent for future ways into work.

“Confidence.”

The biggest changes often happen beyond the design process, when emerging designers gain the confidence to back themselves, take risks and step into the industry.

For …misato yukimoto the Melbourne Fashion Hub program created the space to challenge herself, engage more confidently with industry and re-examine the purpose behind her label.

That confidence is powerful. It changes how emerging designers show up, make decisions and build the future of their practice.

Because great fashion careers aren’t built on creativity alone. They’re built through reflection, mentorship, industry connection and the confidence to keep evolving.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who prioritise responsible and ethical design practices, including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, innovative textile applications and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

• Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
• Recent graduates within the past five years

Applications close 19 July.

“It helped me understand who I’m designing for.”

Dinner Party

When we ask alumni what the program gave them, this is the kind of answer we get. Not theory. The thing that actually changed how they work.

Through MFH, one of our alumni gained a deeper understanding of her audience and realised she wanted to take a more commercial approach to her design practice.

That clarity has led her to continue exploring audience research — ensuring her future work is not only creatively driven, but designed with purpose, relevance and connection.

That’s the power of mentorship: gaining the insight and direction to take your next step.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who prioritise responsible and ethical design practices, including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, as well as innovative textile applications and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

* Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
* Recent graduates within the past five years

“Mentorship…”

When we ask alumni what they valued most about the program, this is the kind of answer we hear.

For Marko Plavsic MARKO PLAVŠIĆ, the mentoring was the part of the experience that had the biggest impact — providing tailored feedback, guidance and industry insight that helped shape the way he approaches his work.

This is why we keep the program intentionally small. By working with a select group of designers, we can provide the individual attention, honest conversations and practical support needed to help each participant move their ideas forward.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who are committed to responsible and ethical design practices — including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, innovative textile applications, and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

* Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
* Recent graduates within the past five years

We’re excited to have Glen Rollason join our judging panel this year!

Glen Rollason, Director of , brings over three decades of global fashion expertise to his practice. As the leader of RBPatterns—Australia’s premier patternmaking and sample development studio—Glen partners with over 50 of the country’s leading brands, from global labels to independent designers.

Recognizing that expert patternmaking is becoming a declining skill in a fast-fashion landscape, Glen dedicated his career to preserving this technical “fit DNA.” Bridging the gap between high-level design consultancy and the practical, master-level craftsmanship required to turn a vision into a production-ready garment.
To further support the next generation of designers, Glen launched Small Batch Supply as a direct evolution of RBPatterns (est. 2014). This initiative serves as a vital low-MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) manufacturing resource.
