When I was 19, I saw for the first time. Instantly, I was like, this band is now my personality. Camo was now my favorite color. I bought new white shirts every week. No sappy emo music was allowed anywhere near me or my friends. It was also time to take moshing seriously. I hit the gym hard to move faster and learned Muay Thai for better spin kicks. After moshing hard at shows, I became friends with Mat. So I had to support my friend and go to more BYD shows. We saw them five times in seven days. My cardio was through the roof in the mid-2000s. Bury Your Dead took a break for a few years. I kept moshing, met other bands, and ended up starting Mosh It Up. BURY YOUR DEAD is the biggest influence for our brand. 70+ BYD shows later, I have made hundreds of friends moshing. I've been kicked out venues and have been in fights for moshing too hard to BYD. Twenty years later, the lesson learned is never stop moshing, never grow up, and always have fun. I'm thankful a video of one of the best nights ever exists.
