2025 the year of the Snake 🐍
I know I know, I jumped the gun. It's not even Christmas yet?! πŸ˜… Always liked the idea of a knotted snake, it's like a 2 in 1 combo. So I sat and made. Because why not? (in the words of my son) πŸ˜‚ I did toy with the idea of jewelled eyes but didn't have any on hand. But the gold foil gave it some much needed bling!

I finally did it. After putting it off for so long, my air plants have a permanent home now! Haha! I sculpted it with 2 long arms so the smaller plants can nestle in them.

Thoughts...
1. This is a great way to use up all the wrong clay I bought when I first started without any knowledge. I now only use Sculpey Souffle, Premo and/or Cernit.
2. Air plants are hard to keep alive in Australia where the air is so dry!! I give them an overnight soaking once a week. Seems to be doing the trick!

I must admit I only grew fond of birds in my later years; that only with their songs do you feel you are grounded with the world around you.

I was so glad to create this custom pair of dainty Robin earrings for someone who's not very used to wearing big and bold earrings. So I picked a muted earthy tone - for ease of matching, for the rather conservative office dress code and for the Robins to stand out. I'm so happy she liked them.🧑

The Robins were 'coloured' bit by bit with clay which was applied onto the body with a needling tool.

What an incredible honour and humbling experience for her to be chosen to lay the wreath on behalf of the Scouts. The frigid and overcast morning set the sombre mood as we remember the fallen and honour the servicemen and women past and present. To always cherish the peace and all that is made possible through the sacrifice of those before us.

The sulphur crested cockatoo is probably one of the most recognizable birds in Australia. They're loud, flamboyant and overall funny creatures, always look like something is up their sleeves, or feathers. πŸ˜†
