The past few weeks have been quieter here, and I wanted to share why đ¤
Our little Xavier has recently been diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation. In simple terms, this means part of his brain is sitting lower than it should, which is creating pressure â particularly causing headaches and pressure behind his eyes.
Itâs been a lot to process.
It started with what felt like small things⌠intermittent headaches over a number of weeks. Nothing that screamed âsomething serious,â but enough that my mumma instinct kept nudging me. Over the weekend those headaches became more frequent and longer lasting, and something just didnât sit right. I took him to ED, we were sent home, but the next day when he complained again I trusted that instinct and went back. That decision led to an MRI â and our answer.
One thing Iâve learnt through this is: if your instincts are speaking, listen. Even when it feels like you might be overreacting.
Right now, our focus is Xavier. We are meeting with a neurosurgeon at the Royal Childrenâs Hospital this week and navigating what this means for him moving forward. While we are incredibly grateful there are options and support, itâs still an emotional and uncertain time for our family.
XO by Kali is still here đ¤
Orders will continue to be fulfilled, and Iâm always happy to help where I can â especially if you have something special coming up and need a piece.
But for now, my most important role is being mum to my boy while we walk this path.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your kindness â it truly means more than you know.
