📣 Heads up — we'll be closed Tuesday, 29th September!

Due to Katrina being in Rosebud running our pop-up shop at Pete Sews , the store will be closed Tuesday evening and the sewing class will also not be running. 🧵🚗

We know it's not ideal, and we truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We are sure you'll get behind us getting out to regional Victoria and supporting our country sewists being able to access what you are lucky enough to enjoy every week! 💛

We'll be back to our regular Tuesday evening hours the following week. In the meantime, come and find Katrina in Rosebud if you're that way inclined! 😄✨

Remember those cord fabrics we moved out of the shop to make room for Summer fabrics?

We've added them to our online shop. And in the process, we did notice that 5 of them are lightweight qualities, which are perfect for Spring. And it should be noted that the other cords are no heavier than mid-weight, so still very versatile for those cooler Spring days.

Online orders are picked and packed once per week on a Thursday from our offsite warehouse, and transferred across to the Eaglemont retail store for postage or pickup.
Please place your order by 9pm Wednesday to have your order dispatched within the same week

Honestly, we ask ourselves this and then we look at this community and we know exactly how. 💛

3,000 of you. Three thousand people who care about fabric, creativity, sustainability and community enough to follow along, share our posts, shop with us, donate, volunteer and cheer us on from near and far. It is genuinely overwhelming in the very best way. 🥹🧵

🙋 Can you help us get an overlocker to Gracie in Kaniva?

We know first hand that our sewing community is kind, generous and wonderfully supportive — and today we're calling on exactly that. 💛

With school holidays coming up, we thought there just might be someone planning a driving holiday to South Australia who wouldn't mind a small detour to support a fellow sewist. 🚗🧵

We need someone to deliver a parcel to Kaniva — approximately 30 minutes east of Bordertown.

While this is Gracie's story, she's not much different to so many of our country sewists. When she reached out asking if we could send her an overlocker, we said of course — but shipping isn't cheap, so we thought, what if we could find a better option?

Gracie lives in Kaniva and feels the very real isolation so many country sewists experience. The closest fabric shop is Spotlight in Horsham — 1¼ hours away. Her two biggest challenges?

🧵 Accessing quality fabric she can see and feel before buying
🪡 Building skills to tackle zips, buttons and more complex patterns — with no local sewing group in sight

We are passionate about making sure our country sewing community can access reclaimed fabric and sewing supplies — it's at the heart of everything we do. So while we can't solve all of Gracie's challenges right now, we can certainly get her a secondhand overlocker. And that's a start. 💛

4.1 metres remaining - this was donated this morning. Half of the meterage was purchased before we could even put it out on a roll for display, by a customer that created fun and funky fabric covered armchairs from upcycled fabric.
