When I met my partner, he and his son used a tactic they called the "Frantic Fifteen" each evening to ensure routine tasks got done. I quickly found this process invaluable and began adapting it into my own routine. Now, I call it my “Routine Reset”, which I make sure to do each morning after breakfast and each evening before bed.

🌟 What’s the Routine Reset?
The Routine Reset is a simple yet powerful way to maintain clean, clear, clutter-free spaces and avoid slipping back into chaos after the hard work of decluttering and organizing. Here’s how it works:
🕒 Set a timer for 15 minutes.
🧹 Focus on regular tasks, whether in one room or throughout the house.
🗂️ Tackle tasks like clearing countertops, organizing the coffee table, or putting away laundry.

In just a short burst of focused effort, you can create noticeable results!

Isn’t it funny how we all use chairs as wardrobes? 🤔 Coats, clothes, bags—just casually hanging out on every available seat like it’s a perfectly normal storage solution. Even professional organisers have their weak spots! For me, it’s the kitchen counter and my work desk—no matter how often I clear them, they attract clutter like magnets! Papers, gadgets, and random items always seem to find their way back. 🙈

Sound familiar? Do you have a spot like this in your home? Maybe it’s the entryway, where shoes and bags pile up, or the dining table buried under mail and magazines.

High-traffic and multi-purpose zones like kitchens and home offices are notorious clutter hotspots. Regular decluttering and creating designated spaces can help—but let’s be honest, it’s an ongoing battle!

While your kids or your pets may love cardboard boxes, many of us tend to hold on to cardboard when we don't need to. During a recent decluttering experience, over 50% of the items removed were cardboard boxes - either kept "for the next time we move" (even if moving wasn't on the cards for many years or at all!) or otherwise just crammed full of stuff that just didn't make it to friends, family, or the op shop. Next time you declutter, think about letting go of that box or boxes that's are taking up valuable space!!
