After I became a mum, I started hiding.

Baggy, dark, forgettable. Nothing felt like me anymore, and nothing fit the body I actually had. I kept waiting to shrink back into my old clothes, and my old self, before I let myself feel good again.

So I stopped waiting. I made Hi Handmade for the body you have right now. Soft breathable cotton, cut for real women, made to feel lovely on the days you do not feel like trying.

I wore the Sara dress to my brother’s birthday and did not think about my outfit once all night.

That is the whole point. I threw it on, added my sandals, and walked out looking like I had planned it for days. I did not.

Someone called this the coolest jacket ever. If you are cold in every single season, here is why. You know the type. The aircon always finds her. She packs a jacket in summer and hates being stuck in something stiff and rigid all day.

I spent 15 years in fashion before I made a single thing I actually believed in.
Big brands, big volumes, big waste. I watched clothes get made to fall apart, so you would come back and buy the same thing again next season.
One day I could not do it anymore.
So I left. No team, no safety net, just a stubborn idea that women over 35 deserved clothes made for their real lives. Breathable cotton. Ethically made. Cuts that flatter a real body, not a sample size.
That idea became Hi Handmade. I still run every part of it myself, from the first sketch to the parcel on your doorstep.

Everyone thinks velvet means dry clean only. Not this one.

This is the Cara velvet jacket. Buttery soft, the kind you keep touching without meaning to, finished with a boho print my artisans screen print by hand.

And it goes straight in the machine. Wash it, hang it, wear it. No dry clean bill, no babying it.

It is the one that lives on the back of my chair for when the office aircon turns on me. Warm enough for winter, light enough for the rest of the year. One jacket that actually works all year.

Here’s how to wear them for your actual body type.

Pear shape, carrying more on the bottom? Wear white up top to pull the eye up.

Apple shape, carrying more up top? Keep the print lower and go black on top to even things out.

Balanced or hourglass? Add a pop of colour so the eye runs the whole way through.

And the bonus nobody expects, print on print. The trick is to match the colours living inside your print. My palm print has green and brown on a white base, so white bottoms fit right in.
