ANNOUNCEMENT |I have some bittersweet news to share. After an amazing 10-year journey with Cathleen Jia, I’ve decided to rest the label.
I’ve loved every single minute of being the Creative Director of Cathleen Jia. To think I started all of this from my parent’s 3x3 backyard shed to being stocked internationally, with dresses worn by brides all over the world is an absolute dream come true.
Of course, I could not have done this alone. To my husband who helped me from day dot and put up with my s**t when I am stressed, THANK YOU.To my friends and family- your support in the early days, volunteering at events, and being the loudest word-of-mouth marketing, THANK YOU! To my industry friends who believed in me when I first started out, shared knowledge and supported me in all those crazy shoot ideas, THANK YOU. To my stockists, for understanding my brand, believing in my vision, and investing in me, allowing my designs to reach the globe, THANK YOU. To my two MVPs Rita and Stephanie, I wouldn’t be here without you. Your unwavering support during highs and lows, working with me wholeheartedly. I was so, so lucky to have you both on my team. THANK YOU.
And lastly, to all of my beautiful brides and their loved ones. I can not tell you how much you all have meant to me. From my very first bride to the last, you entrusted me to create your dream wedding gown and I’ve never taken this for granted. I still get chills and sometimes embarrassingly cry with you when you’ve found your dream gown at Cathleen Jia. I cherish every moment and owe my journey to you. Your support allowed me to live my wildest dream. THANK YOU!
But before we get too sad, this isn’t goodbye! I’m starting a new chapter with . Although I won’t be designing wedding dresses anymore (for now – never say never!), I’m moving to a space that aligns better with my current life. The Wedding Theories will offer business mentoring, industry insights, and community support for wedding professionals. I will always be a Creative and an Entrepreneur, and very excited for the future with The Wedding Theories.
