Violet Peaks was first an idea back in 2019 when I, Jamie, was travelling Australia, living in a place called Mount Buller, Vic. Pictured above.
I grew up in Ontario, Canada, just north of Toronto. North enough that the snow was guaranteed every winter without fail. I was very fortunate to have parents who could afford to put me and my five siblings in ski lessons. Every Saturday morning, there was never a dull moment trying to wrangle us all. I spent almost every weekend in the winter on the slopes at some point. It was a part of us as family. Something that every one of us had in common, and we loved it.
After I graduated from college, I moved to western Canada and lived in a small town with big mountains; Lake Louise, Alberta. It was a beautiful place to live and ski. After my year out west, I moved to Australia on a WHV. During my first year, I did a snow season in Victoria's High Country at Mount Buller. Who knew there was snow in Australia?
The photo pictured above encapsulates everything that Violet Peaks is and where it came from. This photo is just one of many that I have taken of mountains here. I've watched many sunrises and sunsets that have painted a purple palate. While I am biased as purple is my favourite colour, it is truly breathtaking. The hazy layers give me feelings of hope and gratitude.
My husband, Tom, and I decided to bring this idea to life in 2020 and have finally launched three years later.
