Jake’s road to recovery… 🚗🚦

After a serious motorbike accident in Feb 2024 and a string of surgeries to follow — including but not limited to an ankle open reduction internal fixation (ORIF), and a removal of hardware - Jake’s now well into his rehab!
He’s re-building his ankle strength, balance, and mobility, working toward his goal of returning to the gym and weight training pain free. 🏋️

A typical traumatic injury generally starts with some sort of trauma, in this case a MVA - sustains multiple ankle fractures - gets repaired in theatre by ORIF - sees physio for strength - needs removal of hardware - recommence strength building 💪

“I’ve got arthritis… shouldn’t I avoid exercise?”

This is probably one of the biggest myths we hear in the clinic.

It makes sense why people think it. If your knees, hips or hands are sore, moving feels like the last thing you should do.

But here’s the surprising part… movement is actually one of the best treatments for arthritis. 👏

The key is finding the right type of movement.

That’s where Clinical Pilates can make a real difference. Every program is prescribed by a physio and tailored to your body, your goals and your pain levels. No one-size-fits-all classes. No being pushed beyond what you’re ready for.
