Some materials naturally lend themselves to quieter, more restrained landscapes.

Casablanca Grey is one of them.

A Moroccan limestone with soft mineral movement, muted grey and olive tones, and a texture that feels settled into contemporary Australian architecture.

The Osborne Residence by B.E Architecture has been carefully crafted to create a home that is luxurious yet connected to place.⁠

The concept was conceived around a few fundamental design elements - the focal point being a striking floating white concrete ceiling paired with expansive glass panels, charred timber, and the internal Japanese gardens.⁠

Each part of the house has a clear purpose, with spaces unfolding in a natural sequence and opening to gardens and outdoor living areas. This approach creates a sense of ease and flow, offering both openness and privacy as family life moves throughout the day.⁠

When choosing natural materials, it’s easy to think you’re selecting a product. An isolated colour, finish, or type of stone.

In reality, materials like stone behave as part of a system. Where they’re used, how they’re installed, and what they’re exposed to over time all influence the outcome.

Many frustrations only appear after installation, not because the material is faulty, but because the broader context wasn’t fully considered early on.

Using a Sandstone in an area prone to salt and moisture will weather differently when compared with that same stone used a less harsh environment.

Our office A/C has packed it in, and our Zooper Doopers have melted, so we're closing up early to find some shade. ⁠
