At Foods That Heal, we have a strong focus on fermented foods, for they have been displaced in our technological society that values a long shelf life and economical factory processing. They are vital to the treatment of digestive disorders & for the simple maintenence of inner health. Sauerkraut, cultured milk and lacto-fermented beverages are rich in enzymes and act as sources of beneficial bacteria (pro-biotics) which restore the eco-system of the gut. It is our incentive to revive the traditional food wisdom of our ancestors by spreading awareness thourgh market stalls that sell these foods, and by facillitating workshops that educate about the skills of fermentation and traditional food preparation techniques.
