❓ Why has it been recalled?
This product does not comply with the mandatory Australian safety standards for child restraints. ❓ What should I do if I have this product?
If you have bought this product, stop using it immediately and replace it with a child car restraint that meets Australian standards, and return to the retailer with proof of purchase for a refund. If you have any questions, you can contact the retailer by emailing [email protected] or calling 0430 366 273.

Did you know...❓
Children aged 7-12 years are some of our most vulnerable road users. This is because children 7years and over are often transitioned to the adult seatbelt before they are ready.
If your child is 7 years or over, the best way to know if they are ready to transition to the adult seatbelt is by using the 5 Step Test. Remember your child must meet ALL parts of the test to ensure that the adult seatbelt fits them properly and will keep them safe in the event of an accident 🚗

Why is it important that kids stay in their booster seat for as long as possible, even after they turn 7 years old?

Most children won’t be ready to pass the 5-step test and safely use an adult seatbelt until around 10-12 years of age.

Booster seats play an important role in reducing the risk of serious injuries for children who are too small for adult seatbelts by positioning the belt where it is safest - over the bony areas of the shoulder and pelvis - rather than over the neck or abdomen.

When it comes time to choose a booster seat for your child, it’s a good idea to look for one that will grow with them and allow them to use it for as long as possible. Type F booster seats are designed to be used up until children are around 10-12 years old (depending on their height), helping to make sure that your not so little ones are travelling safely on every trip.

🙅 Never use a car seat that has been in a crash! Even if the child was not present at the time of the crash.

Many car seats DO need to be replaced if they were in a vehicle that is involved in a crash - even if the child was NOT in the car seat during the crash.

Crash forces can be extreme. The seat will withstand some crash energy even if the seat were empty. This crash energy will weaken the plastic in the car seat. And while the car seat may seem fine, it may not properly protect the child in a subsequent crash 🤕

A question we received a lot this week during National Road Safety Week was ‘what age can I turn my baby forward facing?’.

It’s safest to continue to transport your child in their rear facing child car restraint until they outgrow the maximum size limit, rather than graduating them when they turn a certain age.

That’s because rearward facing child car restraints provide the support your little one’s developing head and neck muscles require in the event of a crash.

How can you tell when they have reached the maximum size limit ? Look out for the shoulder height markers - these show when your child can start using a child car restraint, when the seat can be converted to the next mode, and when your child has outgrown the restraint.

📣 Loosen harnesses BEFORE pressing that red button!

It's more comfortable for your passenger and easier for you to get them out. This can also help to prevent those dreaded twists.

Did you know that child car seats have an expiry date? Seats that are over 10 years of age should not be used ⛔

❓ Why? because manufactures will not guarantee the seat will perform at its best in an accident.

📆 If a trusted family member or friend has given you a car seat make sure you check the date of manufacture before you use it.

Can anyone spot the issues here?

When your children are the right height and age to graduate to a booster seat, they often feel they are also old enough to buckle themselves into their seat without adult supervision!

While they may be able to buckle their seatbelt in, it’s still important that you check that their belt is positioned correctly on every trip, to help keep them safe.

Tell us in the comments below - are any of the seatbelt paths in this image correct, or are some adjustments required?
