Modernist Designer Lounge by Aristoc

This lounge has been the prize of my personal collection for several years.
It’s manufactured by respected furniture maker “Aristoc Industries” in Melbourne (See foil tags underneath chairs).

I am led to believe through my many years of researching this particular suite that it may have been designed by Grant and Mary Featherston who worked closely with Aristoc between 1957 and 1970. I cannot fully confirm this and have failed to find another suite the same, or other collectors with any knowledge of its design origins.
Grant and Mary Featherston did many brilliant and highly valued designs with such manufacturers as “Aristoc” and “Module furniture Co” in the 20th mid century. The famous “Numero 4” modular lounge designed by Grant and Mary has very similar design licks to this piece and I’m wondering if this may have been an experimental prototype that may have had very limited production? It also shows strong resemblances in design and construction to the beautiful “A10980 Chair” or “Poli”. You can see both these designs on the Sydney Powerhouse Museum website.
If anyone has any knowledge on the suite I’d be grateful if you would share.
I am a huge fan of Aristoc and the styles they have produced over the years like the “Scape” and “Mitzi” dinning suite range by Grant Featherston. This piece is another great example of what they were producing in the modernist era.

This black Aristoc modernist lounge is by far one of my most prized possessions. I will be taking it off the shop floor sometime over the next few days and returning it back to my personal collection. I'm open to reasonable offers for a very short time. A very rare and unique piece. Regards Mick.

These highly collectable, metal Sebel chairs are in 4 different colours and are a rare find in this child’s size. With fantastic vintage industrial styling and colour, they are not only uber-cool and cute but also very practical. They stack very tightly for storage in between gatherings and even the most excited kid at the party will have trouble damaging these iconic mid-century chairs.
The chairs all have similar wear to the painted enamel finish, as many of these chairs have today. Being of industrial styling I’m one to appreciate the worn patina and character that these chairs show. One red chair has a missing foot cap, all the other chairs foot caps are present and not split or loose. All the chairs are structurally stable without wobbles or missing rivets. All but one grey chair has the authentic Sebel water sticker still attached.The dimensions of the chairs are as follows... To top of backrest is 53cm, to top of seat is 29cm, width is 35cm and depth is 36cm. A stack of eight chairs is 75cm high.This colourful style of Sebel chair is rapidly becoming a must-have to the most avid industria collections and cafes alike. These smaller versions are quite scarce and a solid investment.

1930’S ORIGINAL ENAMEL WORKSHOP FLOOR LAMP
This is one of the most impressive pieces of enamel lighting that I have ever come across. An original floor standing workshop light with green enamel shade. This is an original hand crafted piece of industrial lighting from the shade to the tripod stand. The adjustable stand can be positioned in multiple ways and has been hand made with a combination of steel tubing and solid brass. Some of the features are the unique brass butterfly fasteners with intricate hand braised mechanism for adjustment of the shade.This light has been refurbished and is in excellent condition. The tripod stand has been cleaned by hand with steel wool to remove any grime and loose corrosion but not to loose its original patina and then coated in clear rust guard varnish to deepen the colours and make it clean to handle. The shade has some chipping with light surface corrosion in places (see pictured) that is typical of 1930’s shades. There are no dints to the shade. It takes an ordinary household light bulb and the tripod stand can fold down to near nothing for storage or transport. The cord is very long at 7.3 meters.

• High fully extended = 213cm
• High fully retracted = 116cm
• Tripod base open = 70cm
• White enamel shade diameter = 46cm (quiet large, larger than the other green lamp listed)
• Shade depth = 33cm
• Cord 7.3m

Louis Poulsen - Enigma 425 (pendant lamp). Enigma 425 is able to provide the space with a soft and distinct illumination. The design of the four shades ensures that the shades are evenly lit and the light is equally evenly diffused. The bottom shade is designed as a disc that completes this glare free fixture.

$9800... Massive Custom File Drawer Wall.

WOW! How good would this look in a local Cafe or restaurant! It has taken me years to collect and fit together in such a beautiful and useful way.
The 20cc (20th Century Collectables) File Drawer Wall is a collection of 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s high quality steel filing cabinets and file card drawers. No plastic handles! Just heavy quality collectable old school metal drawers. The wall includes the 1950s x-ray light box fitted atop of the unit, valued at $600.
Hours have been spent configuring this wall to get the desired effect of one tight overarching unit. It’s all fixed together into one unit but can come easily apart into sections for removal and refitting to the new location. I’m an experienced carpenter of 25+ years and can quote a removal and fitting price if desired.
As a retail tool it has been very successful for my store in The Centenary Centre in Newcastle. It’s a fantastic place to offer all those unattractive odd items that you don’t want out on display cluttering up your store or cafes décor. People find it fun to rummage through the draws and find a gem!. I have sold countless pieces of lab Glass, textiles and knickknack’s through the File Drawer Wall that I would have not normally put out on display.
