We are delighted to welcome new and returning families to our Term Three Spring Program for Golden Daze Play.

We have some beautiful seasonal craft experiences planned for the term ahead as we move through Winter and welcome early Spring, with our final week celebrating the Spring Equinox.

The sweetest little hand sewn “pouchies” as my seven year old has affectionately named them.
☀️
Last week our families made their own pouchies to take home and use in their homes as a beautiful way of encouraging moments of calm and tuning in to the needs of our bodies and minds.
Each pouch was lovingly filled with a rice and dried lavender mix and sewn and sealed ready to be held in little tender hands at bedtime, or whenever a mindful moment is needed.
We love to keep our pouchies under our pillows, scenting our beds ready for our nightly story time.
Our session this week is sold out, but there are still some spaces available throughout the term if you would like to join us for a morning of holistic learning and play 💫

Mindfulness + Conscious Connection

I personally believe that the best way to enhance our children’s mindfulness practise and lay the foundations for a strong connection to self, is to balance play with consciously connected co-regulation; where we support our children to process experiences as they unfold (either our own experiences or theirs) through modelled self-talk and demonstrated regulation techniques.

Witnessing a parent’s response to their own stress or dis-regulation has a profound impact on the development of a child’s own unique way of responding to the environment around them.

In the early days of motherhood I remember feeling like I needed to mask my more challenging emotions from my son, to ensure that he felt safe, calm and nurtured.

I’ve since realised the importance of not only modelling the strategies I use to move through moments of stress or over stimulation in my day, but also to show the simple things I do to intentionally tend to my nervous system and fill my own cup, so I feel better equiped to hold space for both my children and myself across our full emotional spectrums.

Craving a deeper sense of community myself I decided to just create one! So I welcome you to our FREE monthly newsletter (for lack of a better word) ‘Golden Daze’ ✨
Inside each edition you will find a collection of practical tools and activities designed to foster a deeper sense of connection to ourselves, each other and Mother Earth herself.

And what do I mean by the whole child? I mean when we view our child as comprising distinct interacting dimensions- mind, body, heart and soul. For it is when our children feel deeply held and valued as the glorious multi-faceted beings they are, that the true magic of childhood can unfold.
