Linda Bergskas was the original mastermind behind the much loved bohemian-inspired Australian fashion label, Guanabana Designs. Born in Telemark Norway, Linda’s colourful childhood stirred within the talented designer an intense affinity with animals, nature and exotic cultures. Speaking five languages and having lived in some of the most exotic locations in the world from Europe to Asia, it is ea

sy to see why the spirit of the Guanabana brand is so deeply imbued with ethnic and cultural themes. Linda relocated to Australia in 2001 to pursue a Graphic Design degree and at the completion of her studies, opened her own fashion boutique called ‘Guanabana’; named after her pet Diamond Python “Guana Miss Bana”, who would become a permanent resident in the boutique, located in the trendy beach suburb of Cooks Hill in Newcastle, New South Wales. Instilled with a penchant for all things exotic, the label fuses ethnic inspiration and bohemian luxe to create standout ranges that compliment the relaxed, free-spirited culture of coastal life. Defined by exquisite beading and embellishments, vivid use of color and graphic prints, Guanabana endeavors to offer its customers unique signature pieces and leather accessories that embody the idyllic lifestyle and beatnik spirit of the brand. Since its inception, the label has been stocked in more than 100 stores across Australia and the international fashion market, including highly regarded clothing chains such as Barney’s NY, Kitson and more. In 2013, Guanabana Designs and Boutique gained a new creative director and owner, Nicole Thomas, who under the guided hand of her close friend Linda, continues to grow the iconic label across Australia and the wider fashion market.
