What’s your WHY?

Mine’s simple. I needed to build a business that worked around my son.
In the beginning, I had an agency representing multiple brands. There was no maternity leave for me. I was home from the hospital and straight back into the showroom, with my newborn sleeping in the next room.
For a while, I made it work. But eventually, I felt myself being pulled in too many directions. I was constantly working around other people’s schedules, while facing endless rejection from retailers. It became exhausting.
I started Cie Cie on the side. I poured every cent I had into producing the first collection. It was a huge risk, but I backed myself.
Fast forward to now, my little boy is 4. I’ve stepped away from the agency brands and now wholesale only Cie Cie.
I’ve opened a bricks-and-mortar store, continue building online, and wear every hat imaginable along the way.
It’s challenging, overwhelming at times, but building something of your own, on your own terms, is worth every second.
Nothing good comes easy.
