Because we don’t engage in ‘fast fashion’, we’re able to operate in a way that puts people and the planet first. Crafted by the talented artisans in our Indonesian production house, all Ovae pieces are made from ethically sourced materials — from the best quality sustainable leather to the unique traditional tribal textiles we use to add to the silhouette and story of our accessories. Our intentional production process involves small runs and realistic timelines, to allow the time needed to carefully craft each piece and avoid wasteful overstock.

An embroidered piece of art - each of our vintage, hand embroidered pouches are close to 150 years old. Kept pristine in the wedding dowry’s for years, each one tells a story of a village, a culture, a time and a place.

We have carefully breathed new life into these pouches by adding our signature lining, leather trim, and removable hand woven leather shoulder strap.

Each piece is ‘one of a kind’ a different size, and a piece to be cherished and handed down as an heirloom - A truly beautiful piece of history, up cycled and ready to be enjoyed by the modern women of today…

I (Jackie) designed this bag specifically for myself (in 10 years I’ve only ever designed one other bag for myself!) 😃
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wanted a tote (not too bulky or big) to cart around with me everyday. I wanted something that looked a little bit special (beautifully curved shape shoulder strap, contrast thick cream stitching, gorgeous unique shape) but also something in a practical size that could carry all the accumulative ‘stuff’ like my drink bottle, scarf, camera, and the usual suspects like my Agatha wallet, keys and sunglasses.

Days out for work and running errands roll easily into kids weekend sports or long lunches with Bahamas. And that’s what I love the most about her - She literally morphs into any occasion, and moves with me through my varied days and weeks. I love her versatility and I always feel like she adds something extra when I put her on my shoulder.

Some people literally take your breath away 🫶🏽

A random encounter with this incredible force of feminine energy Abby, was one of those moments for me.

Stopped in my tracks in awe of her beauty and energy, she so gracefully stood, hand on heart in the moment, for me to capture her picture.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

I designed our (now best selling) Agatha wallet in 2017 with some simple things in mind…

• I wanted a ‘wallet’ that wasn’t really a wallet - Agatha is now affectionately known as ‘the anti-wallet’ 🫶🏽

• she’s unbelievably soft (and stroke-able) and the outer leather is made from one entire cut, leaving a smooth seamless appearance which is sleek, soft, and has zero bulk.

• I wanted to add a little bit of ‘wow’ so I decided to make the interior leather with a contrast buttery biscuit colour. The way the biscuit leather ‘peeks’ out through the edges is my absolute favourite part 🥰

• she has enough room for your essential cards, you know the ones you actually use and need everyday? I personally have x4 of these cards, but the card slots are flexible enough you can double them up to 8! (TBH if you’re carrying anymore than this on the daily, you need to declutter 😉)

• and of course she had to be able to easily fit my ‘lifeline’ aka phone. And of course ‘one size’ never fits all (cos no two of us are the same!) so she comes in x2 sizes. 16cm and 18cm. You can check which size suits you and your phone on the Agatha product page or here in our feed.

• lastly, I love the way she looks and feels in my hand when I carry her. She looks different (cos she is) she’s not same same. Her contrast leather adds a novelty and a little design edge that I love. She’s super sleek with zero bulk and nest perfectly in the palm of my hand. I don’t feel ‘mumsy’ when I carry her (even though I’m every bit a mum-sy mum)

If you haven’t tried her yet, I know you’ll thank me the day you do. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a (anti)wallet and more. The hardest part is choosing your favourite colour xo

I don’t know about you, but I despise paying for shipping when I shop online. Sometimes I even find myself adding extra things into my cart just to avoid shipping 🥴 it’s strange the way some of us are wired.

But it got me thinking, if I loathe it so much, my customers must too!? So, without much hesitation at all, we’ve removed shipping fees on ALL ORDERS, regardless of spend. So to put it simply…
