THANK YOU to all my customers and clients for your patience and understanding last week during my unplanned closure.

Sadly, all appointments and the store were brought to a grinding halt due to me becoming unwell. I've never had a week away from work sick before. It was difficult to plan and navigate a return date. I usually get well from viruses comparatively quickly. It made me aware that some of the bugs around now will take hold and be more aggressive.

As a small business operator, flying solo, having people sending wellness wishes, and beautiful messages reminds me of what Meraki is to many in our community. Connection, Care, and healing. It is also greatly appreciated and reduced my feelings of 'doing it alone'.

Small business is always a challenging dance. Winter trade is almost non-existent, and I have to remind myself each year that I have been here before and sailed through. It's important in a small town that reminds me often that there isn't much here, I remain. Having to close last week could spell a tipping edge, but I will find a way!
Those messages reminded me of the 'why'.

In a world where bullies are normalised, encouraged, and revered, we must demonstrate that kindness is far more powerful. And, simple.
