♥️ This Saturday is my FIRST Market for 2026!

♥️ This little plaid dress is my LAST for this market!!

♥️ WHERE?
Whale Mall, South Bank Museum

Saturday 30th May, 10.00am - 3.00pm

♥️ DETAILS OF TARTAN DRESS ♥️

This little dress is Size 4. The fabric is a gorgeous dark red tartan. I made an exception to my all 'cotton rule' for this divine tartan, which is 100% polyester. Don't rule it out! The bodice and skirt are fully lined in finest white cotton, and only cotton touches the child's arms. Furthermore, the elastic can be adjusted to your child's arms!!

♥️ The BIG bonus of this fibre is that polyester is drip dry! The lining will need a quick iron and the collar will press crisp and flat with a warm iron.

♥️ Another bonus is that the collar is attached, because polyester fabric will not bleed dye.

⚘️ Lately, I've enjoyed making classic little corduroy dress with vintage collars.⚘️

⚘️ Some will have Battenburg lace collars and others will have round or square doilys with the centres removed to fit the neckline. ⚘️

⚘️ I have been reflecting on how to conceal little silver press studs which hold the detachable collar in place, if the child wears the corduroy dress without the collar to be less formal. ⚘️

⚘️ My solution is to create small bows in the same corduroy, fasten matching press studs on the back of the bows and fasten the bows in place at the centre back neckline. ⚘️

LITTLE MISS MABEL NEWS-

⚘️ These are my new mid-season little dresses, made in finest cotton corduroy.

⚘️ I will make more when I can source the colours I want. Detachabe collars may vary depending on vintage doilys available. (Each collars can be laundered separately and clipped onto the dress)

⚘️ They will be available for sale at the Whale Mall of the Southbank Museum on Sat 2nd May.

⚘️ Such a lovely Special Occasion dress would be unique Mothers Day gift for the mother of a sweet little girl!

⚘️ Monday was the day of my professional photoshoot with talented photographer Katrina Tait!

⚘️ Katrina organised 4 gorgeous little models and suggested a private Flower Farm at Mount Tamborine for the setting I sought.

⚘️ These are the lovely photos she produced! I was so happy to see my little dresses on little sweethearts.

⚘️ I now have such beautiful photos to promote my Little Miss Mabel dresses!

🌷 MONDAY 13th APRIL - Photoshoot at Tamborine Flower Park! So excited to see my dresses on 5 little models! I'll post photos when they are available!

🌷 SUNDAY 2nd MAY - First Market of the year at The Museum at Southbank.
(in the Whale Mall). A great chance to buy a Mum a special dress for her little sweetheart! ❤️

Hi all followers, thank you for your helpful feedback over the years.

Soon, I plan to rebrand this site to Little Miss Mabel Creations to better reflect my current textile pursuits.
I've tried selling through ETSY but in the last few years it has become more and more unworkable.
