The Sewing Collective Studio: First Floor Loading 🤎

Slowly but surely, my private sewing atelier is coming to life.

This first floor will be the home of my alterations and dressmaking work—a space where garments will be designed, fitted, altered, created and brought back to life. After years of sewing from home, having a dedicated atelier feels incredibly special.

Every corner has been thoughtfully designed with both beauty and function in mind. From the work areas for pattern drafting and dressmaking to the little details that make the space feel calm, welcoming and inspiring.

One of my favourite spaces has to be the fitting room. ✨

I wanted it to feel more like a beautiful boutique experience than a traditional fitting room—a space where you can feel comfortable, confident and truly seen. Soft lighting, thoughtful styling and a warm, inviting atmosphere have all been carefully chosen to make your fittings feel special.

As someone who spends so much time helping people feel good in their clothes, creating a fitting space that feels both aesthetically beautiful and genuinely comfortable was incredibly important to me.

There are still a few finishing touches to go, but seeing this atelier come together has me feeling all kinds of excited.

I can't wait to welcome you in, pin garments, chat fabrics, bring your ideas to life and share this beautiful space with you all. 🤎

The time has flown and I can't believe how much has changed and so much has been accomplished in these last few weeks. I can't thank anyone more than my wonderful, amazing and helpful hubs.

Sewing changed my life in ways I never expected 🤎

What started as a skill I learnt from watching my mum sew has become so much more than making clothes.

Sewing has given me confidence when I had none. It gave me purpose during seasons where I felt completely lost. It became a creative outlet when life felt heavy, a form of meditation when my mind was noisy, and a way to reconnect with myself when I had spent so much time looking after everyone else.

It taught me patience, resilience, problem-solving and the beauty of creating something slowly with my own two hands.

Through sewing, I built a business. Through that business, I found a community. And through that community, I found friendships, opportunities and a version of myself I am incredibly proud of.

Four years ago, I was burnt out, anxious, overwhelmed and simply surviving. Today, I wake up to a life that once felt impossible. A beautiful family, a business I love, and now a studio that exists because of a craft that has been part of my story for as long as I can remember.

The Sewing Collective Studio was never really about sewing.

It's about what sewing can give you.

Confidence.
Connection.
Creativity.
A sense of purpose.
A place to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

And for that, I will always be grateful. ✨

We have still got a long way to go before the space is close to being finished but somehow having the threads up and out makes the space feel ready to sew! This thread wall was my favourite feature in our studio at home.

Happy Monday lovelies 🤎 hope you had a beautiful weekend! they always go by so fast!

We are another week closer to opening July 1st 🙌🏽

This week we are focusing on the first floor: sewing atelier, office, bathrooms and entryway. There is always lots to do and we're getting there. I really want to make this space so inviting and functional for us all 🙂

We are also behind the seams- working on the website which is where you'll be able to book those sewing classes and the alterations/ dressmaking.

Thank you so much for those who have already enquired and are as excited as I am to open our doors.

Stay warm and have a beautiful week ahead. My mantra this week is "Don't forget to feed your soul" which is such a good reminder when the juggle is real 😂
