Giving these chairs a fresh new life and sharing a few upholstery tips along the way ✨

If you’re working with velvet or velour fabric with a coated or brushed surface, I highly recommend folding the fabric with the right sides facing out when cutting. The pile can make layers shift easily during cutting.
Before unpicking old pieces, leave small marks/notches to help you put everything back together like a puzzle later. And don’t forget to mark the top and bottom of each piece so the pile direction stays consistent ✂️🪑

✨ How to Remove Rhinestones from Fabric
If you need to remove rhinestones from fabric to sew over that area, there are a couple of methods you can try. Here’s my experience:
🔹 Breaking method (commonly used for beads)
When working with beaded fabric, some people carefully break the beads. The thread stays intact, the beads don’t fall apart, and the area becomes easier to sew through.
❗️ But this doesn’t work well for rhinestones
In my case, the rhinestones were too beautiful to destroy, and breaking them wasn’t the best idea — it can damage the fabric and ruin the look.
🔹 A gentler method — using heat
Here’s what worked perfectly for me:
Place a pressing cloth over the rhinestones
Use the tip of your iron to heat only the specific area
The glue underneath starts to melt
Gently remove the rhinestones right away
The fabric stays intact and ready for sewing
✨ This method helps you clean the area neatly without damaging the fabric.
Hope this tip is helpful 💛
