Not something I get to do much these days - historical corsetry. But really enjoying flexing those skills again after many years. Still a couple of fittings to go on this one. Looking forward to flossing, haven't done that in over a decade.

Breanna - I was tasked with creating the corset with the specific request that as much of the internal structure (boning and waist tape) be made extremely visible which, as a corset maker - I love because it's usually the opposite of what I'm requested to do!

SO. MUCH. FUN! This custom French lace covered corset and heavy silk satin skirt was an evolution over 12 months (or more) of fittings and consultations and the result was perfection.

I was tasked with creating a corset with the specific request to be able to see as much of the inner details of boning and waist tape as possible which, as a maker is a lot of fun because it’s really lovely to see the inner workings of a piece be part of the feature of the final design.

I am quite clearly terrible at posting on social media. This is my first piece in the new studio! My lovely client, Marina's brief was was minimalist - no seams where possible so after building the custom corset I draped it in fabric to remove all traces of seam lines.
It was a mountain of hand stitching but I was really pleased with the results. These were some shots taken during fittings.
