What is Oilskin?

Oilskin is the material that forms the exterior of most of our products. Australia’s famous oilskin began when sailors learnt that treating old sails with linseed and whale oil produced a protective wet weather material.
Since then, the technology has continued to improve. Oilskin is engineered to keep the wearer dry in heavy rains and withstand working in Australia’s harshest conditions. Our oilskin is 100% cotton, which allows the fabric to breathe as well.

There’s something pretty special about this

Mandy from the Macedon Ranges sent us these beautiful snaps of her “special girls” all mums to be, some even carrying triplets
A bit of extra TLC, a few XL oilskin coats (with a clever homemade strap to keep them snug), and they’re now just 4 weeks away from lambing.

We designed our gear for the outdoors… but we love seeing it go the extra mile. From Daisy their dog, to a paddock full of future mums, these coats are doing exactly what they’re meant to do, keeping loved ones warm and protected.
