Lara Stone The Label Small producer of local garments- from textile dyeing with natural elements to design, pattern making and sewing.

Lara Stone is a collection of Naturally Dyed apperal that is ethically made on the Sunshine Coast. The clothing is primarily dyed with native Australian flora and minerals. The cuts are focused on one size fits all styles. Lara Stone offers an alternative to the fast paced fashion conventions that have flooded our market and encourages the less is more approach to garments. On Saturday we met the indigo master here in Rajasthan which was an amazing experience. Here in the land where indigo is said to have started. In the sandy soils of Rajasthan where Indigofera tinctoria grows so well we learnt about all the stages of indigo production. Such a fascinating experience about a truly sustainable practice! I also bought an indigo ‘cake’ directly from the hands of indigo this master! Hopefully there will be many more amazing times to come from this experience!

Well, I’m really looking forward to this Local Celebration of Spring and Community! The native flowers that we have planted over the past few years are already showing their colours! Banksias, Grevileas, Pultineas, Hoveas, Hardenbergias, Leptospermums, Triptanines and Protantheas are all out, with Kangaroo Paws, Hibertias and Baekeas ready to bloom. So come and say hello and enjoy the garden! There are some wonderful people coming together to make this happen, can’t wait!
