✨ Why “Hello Annie”? ✨
I get asked this a lot, so let me tell you about Annie.
Annie was my Nana. Fiercely Irish, formidably colourful, endlessly joyous and kind, the works. Her door was always open to anyone who wandered through it, my childhood friends even had their own name for her: Nana Scully. That’s the kind of presence she was.
The warmth and generosity she carried into every room is what I try to bring into this shop every single day. When you walk in, I hope you feel a bit of her in it, the colour, the welcome, all of it.
She would have loved this place so much.

✨ Every day’s a good day at Hello Annie ✨

Monday, Tuesday, rainy Wednesday, doesn’t matter. Cloudy day, quiet day, the kind of stressful day where you’ve dropped your keys down a drain (true story), or the joyful kind where everything just goes right. Doesn’t matter which one it is.

Because every single one of those days is a great day to pop into the shop. And every single one of those days is a great day for me, because I get to hang out with you wonderful humans who make this job the best job.

Rain on the windows or sun on the footpath, we’re here Tuesday to Saturday with the kettle on and the colour turned all the way up.

Happy first day of Spring, Parkdale! 🌸 We’ve officially had enough of pretending four layers is a “look.” Bring on the sunshine, the warmer nights and an excuse to finally open the shop door without everyone racing to shut it again.

We’ve got new colour hitting the shelves, good vibes on tap and probably a slightly too enthusiastic amount of excitement about the weather forecast. Pop in and say hi, we’d love to see your faces (the ones that aren’t hidden behind scarves for once).

Confession time: I’ve put myself on a self-imposed shopping ban from the shop! Partly so the good stuff actually stays here for you to buy, but mostly because I have a real weakness for taking things home... I only buy what I’d genuinely love in my own house, which is exactly how the giant rooster nearly didn’t make it to the shop floor 🐓

So next time you spot something you love here, grab it quick, because if I’m not careful it’ll end up in my lounge room instead!

❤️ Craft time! I love it when an idea comes together, stay tuned as I make these very long felt chains to first hang in the window and then hang in the shop. They take a very long time to make but my goodness they are beautiful.

🍌How exactly did I learn to run my own business, you ask? Well, if today was any indicator, I know nothing! WOWZA, what a s**t day. Up until 3pm I hadn’t made a single sale... eeeeekkkkk... but thanks to some lovely locals, I made a couple of quick sales that made a little difference🤍🤍.

❤️ Don’t worry, we’re not about to rearrange the shop again anytime soon! We just did that and I’m so happy with how it looks, and so are our customers.
What I am doing right now is trying to figure out where everything is going to go as new stock arrives over the coming months. Yes, we’ve officially started preparing for Christmas, 🎄 and this year is shaping up to be our best one yet.
