How are you playing on this International Day of Play? The wet weather calls for dress ups, puzzles, board games, music, book play, things that go, imaginary play sets and real play. Even a bounce on the mini tramp when you need to get your energy out. We can help with facilitating quality play at home. Come visit us Saturdays 9-10.30am at Jones Paskin Reserve and have a look at our collection of over 700 toys aimed at children 0-8 years.

This year's theme, Protect Play, Protect Childhood, is a reminder that play is an essential part of growing up and something every child has the right to experience.

Through play, children learn how to connect, create, explore and belong. It's how they discover their interests, build relationships, solve problems and make sense of the world around them.

The science is clear too. In just 30 minutes of play, one third of the neurons in a child's brain can change and form new connections. Play quite literally helps children grow.

We believe every child deserves opportunities to play and every family deserves access to spaces and resources that help make play possible.

Today, we're celebrating the value of play and the important role it has in every childhood.

Budding entomologists are loving our new Mini Beasts and Microscope Set. Kids can see close-up, all the details of a selection of insect and spider specimens. It's an excellent resource to promote scientific inquiry and develop language. Active Family Membership for 12 months is only $70 (not even half the cost of this one item). With funding assistance from the WA Government, our STEM and Learning category has seen many new toys hit the shelves over recent months. This new Magic Adventures Telescope will be arriving soon and little scientists will love checking out the planets and stars. A reminder that our Stay & Play is on this Saturday 2 May, 9-11am at Jones Paskin Reserve. There'll be bubbles, music, a light morning tea, and of course our favourite toys set out on the grass for the kids to explore. It's a relaxed, fun morning and a lovely chance to discover how the toy library works. No booking required, just turn up!

S31: Magnetic Foam builders. Kids have been designing rocket ships/launch pads/power stations and more. The foam and magnets are fantastic for builds that would not be possible with typical blocks. A brilliant new addition to the STEM section.
