Making some breakfast in my 50's style apron I got from a retro market, then...

ONTO SEWING PREP!!

I'll be designing my fromcarlyb and The Colour Collab Treasure Box fabrics patchwork dress in my sketch pad, explaining my choices and decisions for the final design, then I'll be drafting the top bodice pattern to my size (and I'll explain the prices so you can make your own), then ironing and cutting my pre washed fabrics, and then construction can begin!!

Posting for accountability!

Today I will record some more videos for my new YouTube channel woohoo!!

**One showing off the rest of my fabric order from The Colour Collab!! Some beautifully vibrant prints that I've pre washed on a wool setting on my machine with good quality delicates washing liquid.

**One with the rest of the prep for my fromcarlyb Treasure Box patchwork dress (ironing and cutting patches and top of dress, and a tutorial for making a gorgeous one for yourself!)

** Then if time and my pain allows, I will also add a reversible bucket hat tutorial with a link to a free pattern (from another creator). They are super quick and fun to make, with only 3 pattern pieces needed, and if you don't have a way to print the pattern, I'll show you how to self draft it as well.

For 5 years I've been teaching myself sewing with YouTube, and in that time I've been scared to make some types of clothing. I've done lots of skirts with elastic, but since finding your page I have made a backless dress, wrap top and pants for the first time!

My confidence is now building, and the way you show patterns using paper cut outs is so easy for my brain to follow that's I've finally wrapped my head around how to make these things!

You are amazing, keep on doing what you're doing, my favorite things about sewing for my job is that I love it so much and get to do it like every day (if my chronic pain allows).

Hello my friends!!

THE DAY HAS COME!

Today I'll be starting to use my favorite Aussie sewist fromcarlyb's "Treasure Box" fabric collection, which I put ordered a couple of months ago from the absolutely lovely Teggun from The Colour Collab and now I have them in my hands, I've pre washed them, and now I'm ready to get creating!!
