Niki first came to Fara Couture, she didn’t have a clear idea of what she wanted for her wedding dress. However, it quickly became obvious that she was drawn to a two-piece design – a top and skirt that she could continue to wear long after her wedding day.
Niki wanted something elegant, unique, and true to her personality. Inspired by her chosen colours of silver and white, I designed and handcrafted a special fabric that was carefully applied to her bustier, creating a look that was completely her own.
For the skirt, we selected luxurious silk crepe, which draped beautifully and featured a soft train that could be easily hooked up for comfort and practicality throughout the day.
When it came to the finishing touches, we discussed a veil. Although a traditional veil didn’t feel right for Niki, we both loved the softness and romance that tulle brings to a bridal look. Instead, I suggested creating a dramatic flowing tulle shawl – giving her all the femininity, softness, and bridal elegance of a veil while staying true to her individual style.
She loved the idea, and together we created a look that perfectly reflected who she is. It was an absolute pleasure to design and create Niki’s wedding day ensemble, and seeing her wear it so confidently made all the work worthwhile.
