I fell in love with you the minute I met you.
That I got to be your One and Only, in a world of Unsafe, felt like winning the lottery for me.

You showed me the power of love and the magic of redemption.

You touched everyone with your courage and resilience. You showed everyone what bravery in action looks like, what it sounds like, what it feels like.
You educated so many about the importance of rescue, and the horror of the puppy industry.
You endured unimaginable trauma before you came to me, and you never, ever let it beat you.

You made me smile so big and love so hard each and every day.

We loved each other so, didn’t we my girl.

We’ve been locked out of our beloved and can see no way back in. We’ll be closed tomorrow but we won’t be celebrating. You’ll never see us advertising racewear. You’ll likely see us flinch when you ask advice on what to wear to anything race related. It’s a tough fit, fashion and compassion, and we’re forever trying to align this industry with our ethics whilst being careful not to alienate our customers. But here’s the thing about horse racing peeps. There is nothing wrong with dressing up and having fun. We’re all for it. But there is something fundamentally wrong with making a party out of a day where countless innocents have lost their lives in the pursuit of their owner’s interests and something fundamentally wrong with supporting an industry that treats sentient beings like commodities. Do many trainers look after their horses? Sure. The better condition they’re in, the more profitable they’ll be. Do some horses get to retire and live out their lives in paddocks? Sure. Most don’t. Those that aren’t fast enough, those that aren’t fit enough, those that won’t or can’t comply with what’s expected of them, those that have won their owners millions but are deemed no longer profitable are loaded onto trucks and sold at saleyards across Victoria. The saleyards are terrifying, barren wastelands for these animals. The main bidders are the doggers. That’s a colloquial term for knackeries. Knackeries are slaughterhouses. What a betrayal. Google Nature’s Child. Google wastage. Google how many horses have been shot on the racetrack every year. There is nothing humane about this industry. There is nothing right about it. Certainly nothing glamourous about it.
Do we realise this post will upset many of our customers? Absolutely.
But maybe, just maybe, it will open a few minds too. And for us that’s worth it.
The world is evolving guys. Let’s make sure we evolve with it.
Please boycott the races. They’re a sad spectacle masking a horribly tragic reality. These majestic beings deserve more than the life this industry condemns them to.

We felt this was apt so we’re offering up this framed print, retail value is $155 so get bidding peeps. Today’s charity of choice is Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter, who are in desperate need of funds to help them deal with the growing influx of badly burnt animals. These California-made prints make rad stand-alone art and look brilliant in groups- what better way to start your collection than by helping those in need.
