A huge congratulations to our very own Jason Kemp on being announced as President of the Specialised Textiles Association at the Annual Awards Dinner last night.

This is an incredible achievement and a well-deserved recognition of Jason’s dedication, leadership and passion for the specialised textiles industry over many years.

From mentoring and supporting training pathways, through to advocating for the future of manufacturing and textile fabrication across Australia, Jason continues to give back to the industry that he loves.

Everyone at LJ Covers is extremely proud to see Jason step into this important role and we know he will bring practical industry knowledge, strong leadership and genuine commitment to supporting members and growing the future of our trade.

LJ Covers have arrived on the Goldcoast for Super Expo 2026. A big thanks to STA for putting on a fantastic Welcome Event and to Ricky Richards for hosting their World Famous Ricky Party. What a great event!!

Today we’re attending the 2026 SuperExpo trade show on the Gold Coast — a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders, innovators and fellow fabricators from across the industrial textiles sector.

There’s always plenty to learn at SuperExpo, from new technology and machinery through to fresh ideas, products and techniques shaping the future of our industry. Events like this are important for keeping Australian manufacturing moving forward and building stronger industry connections. Jason will be welcoming The Hon. Amanda Stoker MP to our event, to continue his work on building recognition for our industry especially in training.

Tonight we’re looking forward to the Specialised Textiles Association Awards Night, celebrating the outstanding work, innovation and craftsmanship happening throughout our industry. There’s some incredible talent in this sector and it’s great to see it recognised.

Tomorrow is a big day for LJ Covers, with our very own Jason having a hand in leading the Inaugral Manufactured Textile Products Workshop. Jason has put an enormous amount of work into helping bring this workshop together alongside a great lineup of presenters and industry professionals.

The workshop will feature:
• Sewing techniques and “Seams That Perform”
• Welded seam demonstrations and sample displays
• AI presentations and practical applications
• Real project case studies
• Industry tools, tips and trade tricks
• Hands-on learning and collaboration

It’s shaping up to be a brilliant day focused on practical skills, knowledge sharing and helping strengthen the future of the industrial textiles industry.

Another big week wrapped up and now we’re looking forward to heading to SuperExpo next week.

A massive amount of work happens behind the scenes to pull events like this together, and we’re especially proud of our very own Jason Kemp for the effort he has put in as Chair of the Manufactured Textile Products Committee helping organise the Textile Fabrication Workshop on Thursday 11 June 2026 and stepping up to setup and MC the event.

From coordinating presenters and workshop content through to supporting industry collaboration, skills development and MSQ and Goverment Minister attendance, there’s been a lot of hard work invested to help create something valuable for the specialised textiles industry.

Jason will also be presenting his own session, “Seams That Perform”, alongside some of the industry’s experienced fabricators. Practical knowledge, real-world fabrication discussion and trade skills that actually matter on the factory floor.

As a business, we’re incredibly proud to support an industry that still values craftsmanship, innovation, apprenticeships and keeping manufacturing skills alive in Australia.

When a rogue injured pigeon entered the arena, there was only one team brave enough to answer the call… Jason and his overly trusting sidekick Kayden. Armed with nothing but quick reflexes, a rag, and questionable confidence, they stepped up for the rescue mission of the year. 🐦

- No pigeons were further harmed or captured for that matter, the hunt continues for our pigeon with stealth like moves
