THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨️ #5
Our current & last ever DL digs- 28.11.2020
We moved into this shop when the diner took over our other Renmark store and we had to find a bigger space and it was exactly what we needed but of course we had to add our personal touches.
I couldn't handle the floor. It was two tone, too dark and it needed to be replaced so Matt & Roger the legends that they are came and laid new floor down to lighten & brighten it up, plus they did some painting, hung the slat wall and created our wood wall. Mark came and wallpapered for us and did our signs again- absolute champion Mark Lewis Signs. And then as always I came along and jazzed it up with all my vintage pieces aswell as all the gorgeous fashion we stocked, and got all the credit hahaha. About a year after we opened here the guys were back to make the shop even bigger because well I always ordered too much because I wanted to try have something for anyone & everyone so we needed more space, and even then sometimes the shop was still too small haha.
Our opening day was sweat all over hot 🥵, it was gross and we were sure no one would come out to see us but of course you beautiful souls did and you gave us our busiest day we've ever had in our 8 years! Thankyou 🥰🙏
This space has seen alot of fun times, welcomed alot of gorgeous people and has given us many memories to cherish. Again we've had amazing, beautiful team members helping us every step of the way who I am so unbelievably greatful for 🙌🧡
It's crazy to think of where we started to where we are today. It's a journey I am so ridiculously proud of. And it feels so weird that it's all coming to an end. I thought I'd be doing this forever. But life has changed. I have changed and it's just not what I want anymore. Life has thrown some amazing opportunities my way and I am so excited to jump into them and start my next chapter!
But hey there's still 2 days left to celebrate this beautiful space and the adventure that Dear Lyla has been so please pop in for a hug, a chat, maybe a purchase & to say goodbye.

THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨️ #4
Our first Renmark boutique-14th July 2019
I loved everything about this shop. Great location, gorgeous view, beautiful sunshine streaming on in. Again Matt, myself & Roger spent alot of time renovating- painting, building a counter, wood door, changerooms, accessories boards & hanging slat wall & lights. Mark came & did our signs again & created our very own floral wallpaper from the flowers in our logo. Something I love & will most likely get him to put in our house one day 🌸🧡 It was all just so beautiful. Our opening day was our second busiest day we've ever had, it was crazy!
Having this shop, plus Loxton at the same time meant more staff & our team grew with more beautiful amazing ladies!

D'Lish Coffee Cart- was opened on the 1st of November 2019. I drew Matt a post it note of how I wanted the cart to look & he nailed my vision. The cart was simple. Yummy cakes, light lunches plus coffee, tea & milkshakes. It worked well with Dear Lyla. But for some reason we thought we needed to go bigger so

D'Lish Diner- was opened on the 3rd October 2020
Which meant more renovations & sleepless nights to get that up and running. I loved what we created with the diner. The styling, the vibe, the food. But at the start we had the wrong balance of staff so we were over worked, overwhelmed, not sleeping, our accountant was ripping us off & we were stressed to the max. I struggled really bad with depression & anxiety because of all of this that I was in the most darkest place I've ever been, to the point where it's all a blur. Thankfully after the first 6months we finally had the best team & everything else was working out nicely but we had lost any love and passion for it. Overall we stuck it out for a year & then pulled the pin. Our mental health was much more important!! But when we had it we had no idea how busy & successful it would be, which meant we needed more space so only a month after opening the diner we needed to move Dear Lyla to a new location which is our current &final home- that's next weeks post 😉
I miss what the diner was, but definitely don't miss owning it. But I learnt alot & met some awesome people along the way 🧡

And I'm lucky to be surrounded by the absolute best 🥰🧡 including YOU!! I got asked the other day what my favourite thing about Dear Lyla is. Easy! The people. Our customers. And for the whole 8 years that is how it has always been. I am so glad to have built up so many amazing, wonderful, beautiful relationships with so many of you. And now as Dear Lyla is closing up, so many of you have came in with your supportive, encouraging, cheerful words for my next chapter and that's how it has always been. We have always been supported, encouraged, and cheered on by you legends.. from day 1 until now, the end. You guys have no fricken idea how much I'm going to miss you all. I am so thankful, so appreciative and feel so blessed every single day for how amazing you have made this journey for me. We wouldn't of been able to achieve everything we have without you all. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
There will be another thankyou post when we finish up next week, but after many days, actually weeks, of kind words, check-ins, goodbyes and snuggly hugs I'm feeling all the feels. This chapter is coming to an end fast, and as excited as I am for the next adventure, this saying goodbye part is really hard.

THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨️ #3
Our Loxton Shop - 6th May 2017- 26th Feb 2021
This was a very special space for me. I absolutely loved this shop. And we worked our bloody butts off with some legends (thankyou 🙏) helping us to make it as beautiful as it was. Matt & Conor sanded the floors & white washed them, Roger painted, Mark did all our signage, Matt & I built our changerooms, counter, barn door, accessories boards & wood racks (thanks Dad & Phil for all the apricot trays), plus removed walls, wallpapered, hung new lights & all our fairy lights and hung all our wall fittings. Ok Matt 80%, Kylie 20% haha but I definitely helped where I could and then jazzed it up with all our vintage pieces and gorgeous clothes. There was alot of all nighters to get it up & running. I loved this shop. And now I'm so glad my bestie Emma gets to do what she loves daily in this special space 💆‍♀️
This was the shop where I really found my groove, myself, my love, my passion, my creativity, my flair. I met alot of my gorgeous friends here & we made so many amazing memories. We filled this shop with good vibes, positivity & so much love and we had fabulous staff along the way helping us out like it was their own! Thinking about it now gives me all the warm & fuzzy feels 🥰
