Well it’s been a while!

Did you know that we are starting to have resealable items available at the St Arnaud Transfer Station out old Wedderburn Rd?

So if you have items that are just too good for the rubbish skip you can bring them out.

We currently have a few items available with more to come.

I'm going to take the opportunity to repeat myself here from Monday's recycle right post.

BALL YOUR FOIL!!!

If you don't, your little bits of foil behave like paper at the sorting station where they use air to separate the 'light stuff' (which is meant to be just paper) from the heavier items.

Then all that foil contaminates the paper stream and can end up with the load being diverted to landfill.

So help the process and give your foil some WEIGHT by balling it to the size of a tennis ball before throwing into your recycling bin or consider dropping it down the yard to support local small business!

Congratulations to Carl Leach and his amazing team at GILMAC on your opening!

What a fabulous asset you have created for our town!

Carl and his team chose to support Ecoswish to recycle ♻️ their plants baling twine.

We press this product into blocks and transport to Melbourne using local freight company McKenzie Transport Tracey McKenzie.

We also source twine from outside companies from Avoca and Bridgewater.

The twine is then reprocessed into new recycled items.

Thank you to all those that continue to support our business.

The challenges over the past few years with the recycling industry have had a huge impact on us.

We have made some adjustments and are disappointed that we can not accept all the products that we used to but we do hope that things may turn around again.

We are grateful to you all, because we almost had to make a decision to close the doors when prices plummeted but we knew that so many local businesses and homes relied on our services.

Things are still uneasy in the industry but with the adjustments made we are doing ok.

I have had a few people ask about our hours so I will change them on here.

We look forward to supporting as many local clubs as we can in 2021!

LATEST NEWS

Although Ecoswish provide an essential service to our clients we have collaborated with our staff and allowed them to make a decision based on their comfort zone as to if they choose to work or not.

We will still be providing collections from our essential service clients being supermarkets, hospitals, hostels, food services etc. We will be closing the gates to Public access.

Whilst the message regarding “forced lockdown closures” is heartbreaking and devastating for businesses we have a responsibility to ensure that this deadly virus 🦠 is contained & the spread is minimized 😷🦠 The government are not “doing this to us” they are “doing this for us”!

It’s time to keep your loved ones close, ensure you are not risking the vulnerable and you are following all the infection control procedures advised.

💕M I S S Y 💕

Today we farewelled our beautiful “junkyard cat” Missy.

She has been a beautiful guard cat for over 16 years. 6 of them with us.

Missy could be found riding around on the forklift! “Working” on the sorting bench and curled up in the tearoom every day. Every now and then she liked to jump on to customers trays to inspect their loads.

She loved pressing up the cardboard with the boys too.

RIP Missy.
