🛠️ I DID A THING... AND NOW I NEED YOUR DESIGN EYES!

This table was looking beautiful, but I just couldn’t shake the feeling that the faux-bamboo trim on the drawer front wasn't quite right. So... I grabbed my trusty pliers, got brave, and ripped it off! (Swipe to see the messy middle and the tiny brad nails I had to wrestle out).

Now that it's off, I have a blank canvas. Because there is already so much gorgeous gold detailing on those turned legs, I'm strongly leaning toward Bondo-ing it, sanding it completely smooth, and keeping the drawer front flat and simple so it doesn't compete with the rest of the piece.

But before I mix up the filler... what do you think?

Bonjour!

Tell me you’re a creative without telling me you’re a creative... 🫣😂

I literally walked into the studio with one simple mission tonight: drop down my grey rug to protect the carpet. That was it. One job.

Cut to a few hours later, and I’m standing back looking at a workspace that genuinely looks magazine-worthy to me! I completely reorganized the entire area, got my paint wall looking exactly how I wanted it, and fell head-first into total studio bliss. I just couldn't walk away when the vision hit!

The canvas is clear, the tools are lined up, and I finally have my perfect sanctuary to just breathe and create. The workspace is officially sorted, which means it’s time to get messy! 🛠️🎨

It’s officially Day 7 of a secret project I’ve been pouring my heart into behind the scenes at my desk. 🕊️
For years, my world has been a beautiful mix of chalk paint, gold leaf, flying sandpaper, and a deep obsession with classical, old-world design. Now, I’m finally taking all those years of trial, error, and hard-earned artisan secrets and turning them into something tangible that you can actually hold in your hands. 📖✨
It is a true labor of love, a bit terrifying, and incredibly exciting all at once.
I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you as it unfolds. Bonjour! 🕊️✨
Before the glamour and the gorgeous shine, there’s this: the slightly sticky, unglamorous step that totally makes or breaks a gold leafing project.
I’m applying gold size (the adhesive) to the details of this piece. The secret to a flawless finish is all in the timing. See that slight milky tint? If you apply the leaf while it’s still too wet, it won’t stick at all. You have to wait for it to clear and get perfectly tacky.
It takes a lot of patience, but trusting the process is always worth it. 🤫
The gold leaf is down, the base is prepped, and tomorrow is the most satisfying part of all... the big sweep away!

Bonjour!

So I'm finally working in the studio, it's still a little chaotic but clear enough for me to work thank goodness.

Today's all about Annie Sloan Country Grey.....I think this has definitely got to be my new fave neutral and is going to make these bedside tables look a million bucks. Stay tuned to see how they turn out, and what else happens to them 😉
