Some days I feel like superwoman.
Other days I feel like the director of a very loud improv show where everyone ignores the plot.

Both can be true.

It is busy. It is hard. It’s full-on in every sense of the word.

But it’s also beautiful. Rewarding. Deeply fulfilling in a way I didn’t expect until I was in it.

Watching my four grow up alongside each other... learning, copying, bickering, protecting, loving... is something I never want to take for granted.

I wouldn’t change it for anything

There isn’t one single way to move through the breastfeeding stage.

Some days feel easy. Some feel different. Sometimes you’re settled at home, other times you’re figuring it out as you go in new places.

What matters most is that you feel supported in a way that works for you and your baby.

That’s the intention behind the Bubbahood. Something you can use when you need it, without it feeling like a big decision or something you have to rely on every time. It’s one of those things you just end up having on you. Available in 6 colours online.

Around 4/5 month's in, feeds can start to feel really unsettled. They’re on, then off, then looking around, then back again. It’s not that they don’t want to feed, they just notice everything now.

It’s usually more obvious when you’re not at home. There’s more going on, more noise, more movement, and it’s harder for them to stay focused long enough to get a proper feed in.

The Bubbahood helps with that, without fully covering them up or physically hiding away. It creates that bit of separation from everything going on around them, so they can actually focus on feeding.

The early weeks after birth often feel small. Not in importance, but in radius.

Your world narrows to feeds, naps, cuddles and recovery. The days blur together in a way that can feel both intimate and overwhelming.

There’s a lot of talk about getting out, getting back to normal, getting things done. But in those first weeks, closeness and repetition aren’t setbacks. They’re foundations worth prioritising.

Babies are adjusting to a world that is brighter, louder and less contained than the one they knew before. And you are adjusting too.

It’s okay if your days feel simple. It’s okay if they feel repetitive. It’s okay if they feel bigger than you expected.

This stage doesn’t need to look impressive to be meaningful.

If you’re in those early weeks right now, be gentle with yourself. Go slowly... it's OK to hit pause on the outside world.

It surprises a lot of women, but yes... you can fall pregnant while breastfeeding.

For some, breastfeeding delays the return of their cycle. For others, fertility returns sooner than expected. There isn’t one universal timeline, and it can look different from one woman to the next.

Because ovulation happens before a period, pregnancy can occur before there are any clear signs that your cycle is back, which is often the part that catches people off guard.

It’s simply something that isn’t always talked about clearly in those early postpartum conversations.

Did you already know this, or does it come as a surprise?

There are parts of early motherhood that are spoken about often, and parts that aren’t.

We hear about the love. The milestones. The firsts. But we don’t always talk about the identity shift that happens quietly underneath it all. The way your days begin to revolve around someone else. The way your body feels unfamiliar. The way time stretches and compresses at the same time.

It’s a season of adjustment in ways that are physical, emotional and internal. Some of it feels instinctive. Some of it feels disorienting. Most of it is layered.

No one can fully prepare you for how much changes. Not just around you, but within you. And that transition deserves space, honesty and gentleness.

If you’re a new mum reading this:
You are not failing.
You are not behind.
You are not alone.

You are learning how to be someone entirely new, while keeping a tiny human alive. And that is extraordinary 🤍

In the early days after birth, everything feels new. For your baby, and for you.

They’ve gone from constant warmth, movement and closeness to bright light, open space and unfamiliar rhythms. That’s a big transition for a tiny nervous system.

Skin-to-skin can be one of the simplest ways to soften that shift.

When your baby is placed on your chest, their body begins to regulate against yours. Temperature steadies. Breathing settles. Heart rate stabilises. Feeding cues often become clearer. Your scent, your voice and your heartbeat are familiar, and familiarity feels safe.

It’s not about doing something extra or getting it “right.” It’s about closeness doing what it’s designed to do.

And it works both ways. Skin-to-skin supports milk flow, lowers stress hormones and releases oxytocin, the hormone linked to bonding and calm.

In a season that can feel overwhelming, sometimes the most powerful thing is simply being close.

If you’re expecting, save this for those first days 🤍

Feeding doesn’t only happen in the quiet moments at home.

It happens in the middle of conversations. In parked cars. On café chairs pulled slightly to the side. Between errands. At the park while everything else continues around you.

Motherhood doesn’t pause the world. It weaves through it.

Finding ways to feel steady in those everyday environments can make the rhythm of feeding feel less disruptive and more integrated into real life.

However this stage looks for you, it’s unfolding within your actual days, not separate from them.

Where’s the most unexpected place you’ve fed your baby?
