Spotters are very beneficial as having them can enable you to safely go heavier than you normally would.. if you fail the rep, they will be there to assist you lifting it back up.

Please, if you’re training by yourself, do not attempt a really heavy set unless you have the safety bars set up so that it will catch the bar without endangering yourself!
